Windwhale Eggs

Orbs of carbon waste

Category:
material
Description:

The common term for the excreted waste of windwhales. These “eggs” are roughly a foot across, and have a pure black appearance with a nearly mirrored finish shine to them. They are made entirely of pure carbon.

When first “laid”, these eggs have an extremely high temperature, glowing a soft red. They have been observed to scorch rock, set fire to nearby flammable materials, and violently boil water they fall into. They take a considerable amount of time to cool down, similar to heated bricks, but once cooled can be cracked open with effort to occasionally find a small diamond at their heart of unsurpassed quality.

The Malvoli use the remains of these eggs in the production of their steel used to form the massive springs used in their Ballista-bridges.
